If ever you have seen a peice of advertising or art that captures your attention, can you remember what was so alluring about it? Sometinmes the content or subject may hold our attention but most times its the colorization of a peice which snatches us!
I am mesmorized by beautifuly vivid and bright layers of color. I design with them and I look for them everywhere I go. My design style is a combination of techniqe and color impact. I don't care for flat color or symetrical shapes. My preference is a myriad of colors from the same hue but of different tints and tones. In harmony these can create eye catching presentations. My non traditianal soft edges and photoshop lend interest to my work.
Colors have meaning in the professional world and while formally studying graphic design I learned that colors do not mean the same to everyone or every industry. What was amazing is how certain colors naturally create impulses and drive emotions. Further more some of the connotations for colors come from the feeling it generates the other from subjected or applied meaniang. Take blue, a cool and calming effect.... the color can represent "Trust" for banks and "Emeregency" for Civil Service. It's pretty awsome that the color is used for both hospitals and librarys on traffic signs. Color has an intimate understanding which is different for each of us, but its nice to learn the visual communications industry code.
Clients find my design style unique and stimulating. If it were up to me there would be no more black and whites... only vivid specturums of color everywhere! I am excited to be designing collatoral materials again and new tools are making my job easier. Adobe CS4 has been a whirl wind of freshness and coming from a Mac to PC also has its advantages.
My new computer system has 1 terabyte of internal hard drive storage, 640 Gigs of external hard drive storage and 6 Gigs of RAM with Windows 7 being the best OS I've worked on yet! I still have my Mac and not putting it down, but wanted to see what PC has to offer. This was a good investment because people tend to use PC more and this allows me to easily access customer files and create seemless work that is compaitable for clients day to day efforts. On my KBX switch I am also running XP Service Pack three design environment which is abridged with Mac with Adobe Design Suite which is version 7.
Anyway, time is up and the gift of gab is running low. Thanks for following my rants and can't wait to see what I come up with next.
